The featured radar picture shows flights operating at 18042010 17:25 Z Flights although very few are operating in Belgian and UK airspace which at the latest Eurocontrol CFMU update were being reported as closed. It is not clear if passengers were on these flights or aircraft were being relocated. As reported on many other sources flights in Germany are being allowed to operate although very limited.

Volcanic ash spreads more travel misery across Europe

"We don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet," a spokesman for the international airline industry said.

"Prevailing westerly winds are expected to fan the massive plume of dust from an erupting volcano in Iceland further east and north, according to predictions from the London Ash Advisory Center."
